How can we help?
The Ontario Poison Centre is always available to assist if you think that you or someone you love has been exposed to a dangerous substance. We provide assistance to people of all ages for a wide variety of exposures. Examples include:
- A child who was found with an open household chemical.
- A child who ate a plant.
- A teenager who has been experimenting with street drugs or alcohol.
- An adult who has been involved in an industrial chemical spill.
- A senior who has made an error in their daily medicine routine.
These are only a few examples of the types of exposures with which we can help. Our Specialists in Poison Information will give you advice on whether the patient needs to seek medical attention, as well as what symptoms to watch for and how to treat the exposure.
